On
December 30, 1968, 17-year-old Marina Habe, had just returned home
from her boyfriend's place in Bel Aire, California. At around 3:30
A.M. her mother looked out the window and saw somebody run up to a
black Cadillac, shout, "Go," jump in the car and it took
off, apparently with Marina in it. Her purse was later found
laying on a road off of Mulholland Drive.
This led investigators to search the area. Her beaten and stabbed
body was found in a ravine about thirty feet away.
A
Family member said that Tex Watson had met Habe while both had
been in Hawaii and had invited her to the Spahn Ranch. She was
thought to have visited the Ranch but refused Manson's overtures.
Watson also had an apartment near the Habe home. Habe
had eaten a vegetarian meal shortly before she was killed. A
motorcycle part was found near her body. The Family was vegetarian
and Bruce Davis owned a motorcycle.
